Kelsey graduated Summa Cum Laude with University Honors from Eastern Illinois University in December 2003. She completed her Masters of Business Administration with an Accountancy Concentration from Eastern in May 2005.
Kelsey joined Gilbert, Metzger & Madigan, LLP as a staff accountant while a student in October 2002 and performed a graduate assistantship with the firm while obtaining her M.B.A. Kelsey was admitted to partnership in 2012.
Kelsey is a member of the American Institute of CPA's and the Illinois CPA Society.
Kelsey provides individual, partnership, corporate, and fiduciary taxation for individuals and small businesses. She also has considerable experience in audits of governmental entities and nonprofit organizations.
Kelsey currently serves on the board of directors of Sexual Assault Counseling and Information Service (SACIS) and Eastern Dominican Christian Mission. Kelsey's other civic and volunteer involvement include serving on the board of directors of Mid-Illinois Big Brothers Big Sisters from 2010-2020, serving on the Eastern Illinois University Accountancy Advisory Board from 2005 to 2014 and 2019 to present, serving as a volunteer to the Finance/Audit Committee for the Eastern Illinois University Foundation from 2014-2017. Kelsey was a volunteer for the Mid-Illinois Big Brothers Big Sisters community-based mentoring program from 2010-2016. Kelsey was also a member of the Coles County 20 Under 40 Class of 2012. Kelsey is an active member of Broadway Christian Church in Mattoon.
Kelsey and her husband, Chris, reside in Lerna, IL with their daughter, Lixia. They enjoy hiking and spending time outdoors as a family.
